Fishing season in France: 12th March to 9th October. Around Peyrelevade there are numerous fishing spots. In Villefranche du Perigord, only a 6 minutes drive, there is a small pond. In Cazals (17 km away) there are several big lakes. If you don’t mind a 30 minutes’ drive, you could go to Villereal where there are several lakes, one of them more than a hundred yards wide. Off course you can also fish in the Dordogne river or the Lot. Beware: you need a fishing permit. You can buy a permit (for a certain department) for a day, a week, two weeks, a month or a year. Information is obtainable in every fish shop.
